LA-based collective Salt Petal conjures up a tropical surf-dance sound that falls into a category all its own. A cross-border combination of Argentinian folk, Brazilian tropicalia, Cumbia and up tempo Indie Rock blurs ethnic and musical boundaries, bringing to mind Blondie, Os Mutantes, Gal Costa, Los Autenticos Decadentes, and 60′s Euro rock and roll. The band’s sound is one of the freshest to come out of Los Angeles, showcasing deep South American rhythms with vibrant Indie Pop harmonies and textures.
Cutty Flam is a three-piece 21st century retro Rock n’ Roll band from the San Fernando Valley. With influences from Ritchie Valens to Quentin Tarantino, their music is wild mix of rock and rock-a-billy, English-Spanish lyrics, and punk, and South American beats.
Horton’s Hayride Fest favorites, their live shows are firing up South Bay dancehalls with their immense energy and signature “Prom Rock” sound.
Cuicani is a World/Soul band based in Los Angeles, paying homage to Afro-Caribbean and Soul music. Established in late 2012, Cuicani’s mix of members and music reflect the diversity of the city it calls home. The band is on-the-rise across the county and is featured on the Los Angeles County Arts Commission’s juried Musicians Roster.
Cuicani is deeply committed to being agents of social change. All members are arts educators working with youth K-12th grade, presenting educational workshops, drum circles, theater classes, and more.
